Oyster 54

Design number: 146 Year: 2005

The Oyster 54 is an ocean-going sailing yacht suitable for fast cruising and passage racing which brings together the performance expected of this class with modern styling and roomy capacity.

Compared with her predecessor the Oyster 53, this model carries more sail on a longer waterline and is lighter due to the use of a cored hull above the waterline and advanced composite engineering, including the use of carbon fibre and Kevlar. Her clean lines, powerful rig and low centre of gravity bulb keel create a fast, rigid but comfortable passage maker. She is well balanced and behaves like a much larger yacht in open sea conditions.

The cockpit onboard the Oyster 54 is 25 percent longer than the 53 and significantly wider, so that up to six adults can sit in comfort with space for a fixed table with varnished woodwork and fold-down leaves for convenient stowage. Superyacht styling has influenced the bulwark with a modern rollover design giving a clean contemporary look to the yacht, with recesses where mooring cleats are required. The sleek curves that are the hallmark of the 21st century Oyster characterise the deck saloon area and give the yacht its streamlined profile.

The Oyster 54 offers three-cabin accommodation to maximise the available space across an owner’s suite and two guest cabins: a double forward and a twin to starboard. The general arrangement combined with long waterline and generous beam give the interior a spacious, light and well-ventilated living area.

This is a handsome, sleek yacht which will perform as nicely as she looks: the winning Oyster combination of performance, style and comfort both above and below decks.
