Airtight Garage

Design number: 26 Year: 1980

Some boat names are self-evident, others need a bit of explaining. Marv Gienger built Airtight Garage on the roof of a skyscraper in Hong Kong, under a temporary covering, which we presume was airtight. She was lowered to ground level by crane and launched in to Hong Kong’s competitive fleet.

We have little documentation in the way of results, except that we know that she won one of the inshore races of the 1984 China Sea Series, at the Manilla end.
