Mid Season Racing Update

Flair IV

Humphreys designed yachts have had a successful start to the racing season on the south coast. The Elan 37 ‘Quokka’, owned by Peter Rutter, won Class 3 of the Raymarine Warsash Spring Series 2005 with a race to spare, with, Jim Macgregor’s Elan 40 ‘Flair IV’ finishing second. At the Red Funnel Easter Challenge, Quokka won IRC Class 2, with Flair IV again finishing second and the Elan 333 ‘Skywave’ finishing second in IRC Class 3. Quokka also finished second in IRC Class 2 at the Bell Lawrie Scottish Series.

In the Western Solent, the Lymington Spring Series was won by Peter Scholfield’s HOD 35 ‘Zarafa’ with the Elan 37 ‘Fidelitas’, owned by Mark Broadway, finishing second. The Lymington Thursday Evening Series has been won by Peter Bruce’s HOD 35 ‘Owl’, with Zarafa finishing second and Fidelitas third.
