Job Opportunity at Humphreys Yacht Design

 

We are looking for an experienced naval architect to join our team. The position will offer a unique opportunity to work across a hugely diverse range of design projects including both sail, power and wind-assist.

 

The candidate will need to be a qualified naval architect, with 3+ years’ experience from a naval architecture / design office within either the yachting or commercial sector. The candidate will need to be proficient in Maxsurf and its various modules, and well-versed in 3D modelling (Rhino) and 2D drawing (AutoCAD) and have a good understanding of rules and regulatory requirements and the process of working with different Flag and Class authorities. The candidate should have a good knowledge of yacht systems and different build technologies from steel and aluminium to composite. Knowledge of design and engineering of steel and aluminium structures to Lloyds SSC and the use of SSC software would also be beneficial.

 

The candidate must work well within a team environment, with a high-level of attention to detail, a strong work ethic and good time management and communication skills. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, applicants must also be fluent in English and have a legal right to work in the UK; unfortunately sponsorship is not available.
