First Orca Class 40 Launches

The end of September saw the launch of the first Humphreys designed Class 40. The Orca 40, built in Slovenia by Ocean Tec, is the latest addition to this exciting and popular class. With over 70 boats sailing worldwide the Humphreys Office are looking forward to seeing her line up on the race circuit with her fellow 40s over the coming year.

The first Orca 40 has been tuning up in Izola, Slovenia over the past few weeks and early accounts seem very encouraging. The Orca 40 has now just completed her delivery to Malta where she will compete in the Rolex Middle Sea Race before returning to the UK. The race schedule for 2009 will see the boat compete in the OSTAR from Plymouth to Newport, USA, the Fastnet race and the Transat Jaques Vabres.
