Elan 340 to debut at Southampton Boat Show
— 20 Jul 2006
The latest model in the Humphreys designed Elan range will be making its UK debut at the Southampton Boat Show this September.
The 340 replaces the Elan 333, the highly successful model that saw sales of over 500 hulls. In the 340 Humphreys has refined the 333 concept to create a cruiser / racer that offers both superior performance and increased living space.
Ideal both for family cruising and weekend racers the 340 features both the fast hull shape and contemporary styling that characterises the other models in the range. The cockpit is generous for a boat of this length, with the wheel positioned well aft for good visibility and minimal intrusion into the seating space.
Down below an aft double cabin gives privacy to the owner / skipper, with another double berth in the forepeak together with two singles in the light and spacious lounge area. The new design succeeds in making the very best of the internal volume and as well as the two double cabins the 340 offers more storage and greater leisure space over its predecessor.
At just under 10 metres in length the Elan 340 represents an important sector in the European yacht market, providing an entry-level craft that is free of the regulations that often apply to larger vessels, and one capable of accessing the smaller marinas and anchorages. Humphreys Yacht Design is confident that it will prove a worthy successor to its acclaimed forebear.
