The Oyster 46 sea trials took place on a brisk winters day with a cold 16-20 knot south-westerly, with gusts up to 31 knots. In the blustery conditions the 46, as expected, soon proved to be a very stiff and powerful boat. Upwind she was hit by a 27 knot squall, yet remained light and well balanced on the helm.

Bearing away in the strongest of the squalls, the lee rail never came close to the water and everyone onbard was delighted with the yachts handling.
