First Arksen 85 'Project Pelagos' is launched.

We are delighted to announce the launch of the Arksen 85 ‘Project Pelagos’ at Wight Shipyard in East Cowes. The launch marks a significant milestone, with Humphreys Yacht Design having been at the heart of Arksen’s Explorer Series since the initial concept development, providing naval architecture and exterior design and styling for these stand-out explorer vessels.

 

The Arksen 85 is a true explorer, with efficiency, comfort and safety at its core, providing an exceptionally robust and versatile platform whether for self-sufficient world cruising or weekend cruising with family or friends. Key features of the design include a highly efficient fast-displacement hull form to minimise fuel consumption, optimised and refined by HYD over an extensive R&D program; large tank capacities providing exceptional range and self-sufficiency; high levels of stability to enhance safety when operating in the world’s harshest and most remote locations; high levels of comfort through optimised seakeeping characteristics and active stabilisation; high load carrying capability to allow a wide range of equipment for both recreational and research purposes to be carried; rugged aluminium construction, with shell plate thickness significantly greater than Class requirements.
