The Elan 31 ‘Benola’, owned by Paddy Gregory, has won the Portcullis Trophy at the Irish IRC National Championships at Kinsale Yacht Club. Benola finished first overall under both IRC and Echo in Division 2, winning double National Championship Titles.

Competing in the Watski Two Star, in Norway, Elan 37’s finished 1st, 4th, 5th and 7th in class, with an Elan 40 finishing 2nd in class. The Watski Two Star is one of the biggest events in Norwegian sailing. This year 130 boats with two man crews raced 300 nautical miles for 3 days. There were 3 legs with a 3 hour pit stop between each leg. The race was followed by approximately 30000 people on the internet, with a peak of 27000 hits per minute.

The first and second legs of the race were won overall by Elan 37’s and the third leg was won overall by the Elan 40. These results, plus some impressive early season results in the Solent augur well for a very successful racing season for Elan yachts.
