Oyster 565

Design number: Year: 2018

The Oyster 565 had big shoes to fill. The early best-seller in the Oyster range was the Holman and Pye-designed Oyster 55. Then when we started with Oyster and were commissioned to design the Oyster 56 it broke all records for pre-launch sales and ultimate build numbers, and remains a sought after model to this day. Then came the Oyster 575, again a very popular model which has devotees all over the place.

So this mid-50 size is a sweet spot for the company and an important baton for the 565 to pick up. Generationally a big step on from the 56 and 575 with her twin rudders, clean and spacious deck, the 565 has proven to be a swift and well-mannered yacht that nevertheless yields nothing in terms of Oyster’s blue water tradition.

Keen to see how the new model performed and behaved, both Rob and Tom raced aboard Panthalassa in the 2019 Palma Regatta, returning in a very happy frame having seen that the 565 will deliver great rewards for future owners, of which there are already a considerable number in the pipeline.
